MEET THE PILOT
Mike Mainiero is the dedicated pilot for M2 Airshows, bringing a career of high-performance flight expertise to the aerobatic box. Based out of Northern Nevada, he has honed his skills with some of the best in the business, training alongside pilots from the elite Sukhoi West Demo Team.
AIRCRAFT DETAILS
The M2 Airshows act is flown in the formidable Sukhoi Su-29, a high-performance, two-seat aerobatic machine constructed with lightweight composite materials and designed for the extreme limits of unlimited flight. Its legendary performance is powered by the 360 horsepower Vedeneyev M-14P nine-cylinder radial engine, which delivers an awesome, signature roar that thrill spectators and announces its presence on the airshow circuit. Driving a nearly 8 foot diameter MT Propeller, the Sukhoi has an incredible ability to "tractor" uphill unlike comparable Western designs.
